What to be mindful of when consuming superfoods
The term superfoods have no legal classification. The term can therefore be used by all manufacturers and sellers and can therefore also be used while a product is not a superfood.
In addition, it is important to eat a varied diet, even if you consume a lot of superfoods. Despite the fact that this food has a high amount of nutrients and antioxidants, a varied diet is extremely important. Superfoods do not have all the essential nutrients that the body needs. Variety is the most important thing to live super healthy.
Acai, blueberries, cranberries and goji berries
Almost all berries are rich in vitamins, but these four are extraordinary for their powerful antioxidants.
- Acai in particular is incredibly powerful, this berry is in the top 10 foods with the highest amounts of antioxidants. Acai contains high amounts of vitamin E, provitamin A, calcium, calcium, and iron.

Chocolate is a favorite snack for many of us, and if you opt for pure chocolate, it can actually do more good than harm. Cocoa is rich in healthy nutrients, researchers found more than 700 micro-ingredients, some of which are powerful anti-inflammatories.
Besides this, it also contains a caffeine-like substance that makes you sharper and generally makes you feel better. Cocoa is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, C, E and in the minerals calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, manganese and contains more magnesium than any other food!

Chia seed, flaxseed and hemp seed
We mentioned these foods before in the Omega-3 blog because they are all rich in omega-3 acids. But that’s not all, they all have their own superpowers:
- Chia seeds contain more iron than spinach and also contain many other minerals. More than 50% of the fatty acids present in this seed are the omega-3 acid “alpha-linolenic acid”, which can be converted into the fish oils EPA and DHA. But this is not all, chia seeds contain 4 times as many antioxidants as blueberries. They are therefore effective in slowing down aging.
- Flaxseed contains even more omega-3 fatty acids per 100g and contains powerful antioxidants against cancer. Researchers found that breast cancer is significantly less common in countries where this antioxidant is regularly consumed.
- Hemp seed is the seed of the Cannabis Sativa plant but does not contain any psychoactive substances. The seeds are very rich in protein, vitamins A, B, E, chlorophyll, magnesium, iron, potassium, and healthy fats. Chlorella & Spirulina

Cinnamon is a common spice with a strong smell and taste. Keep in mind that many “cinnamons” are not actually cinnamon but the very similar Cassia, which is not as beneficial and can even be toxic in high doses. Look for the original Ceylon cinnamon instead. This spice is in the top 3 nutrients with the highest amounts of antioxidants and is therefore beneficial to prevent cancer and delay aging. Cinnamon is unique in that it is also very beneficial for the brain and lowers the risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

This root has been used as a medicine for many millennia. Maca is rich in many vitamins, minerals, and substances responsible for fertility. This nutrient is also known for balancing hormone balance, increasing energy, memory, concentration, and sexual desire.
