Hello, My name is Mees and I am 16 years old. 2 weeks ago I started with the 8-week beginner program. I knew that my workouts were going to be different. I say workouts, but they were not really workouts haha… Before I started this program I just randomly did some sets of push ups, pull ups and dips during the day. So this program was completely new for me. An improvement to me? Hell yeah! With this program I started to do some actual routines, therefore I developed more muscle mass and I especially got way stronger in short amount of time. So this was very positive for me but I will also address the other side.
For me personally it was quiet a big switch. I went from a couple exercises throughout the day to full workouts with 8 to 9 exercises including stretching. It takes a lot of time, so I can only recommend this to people if they really want to put some effort into it. Especially in the beginning it’s rough because you need to go to a maximum amount of reps which I was just not used off. I still found this hard sometimes but I have seen huge improvements because of this. The stretching part does benefit as well if you ask me. I notice that I got more flexible which helped me with the other exercises, especially with the skill workouts. With this program you get 4 workouts a week. 2 that focusses on strength and 2 on skills which I found really nice because it gives some structure in your workouts.
After all, I would strongly recommend this program from Calisthenics Family if you’re looking for a challenge, if you’re willing to put some time and effort into it AND if you want to make real progress while having fun because that’s the most important!
